Performance Analysis of V2V Sensor Sharing Using 5G-NR-V2X in On-Road Environments
Abstract
V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) is a key technology for implementing intelligent transportation systems, and its performance in real-world driving environments is directly affected by various external factors. Despite this, previous studies have generally lacked comprehensive empirical analyses that consider such factors. Therefore, this study analyzed the impact of vegetation density, rainfall, and traffic volume on the performance of 5G-NR-V2X communication using large-scale on-road driving data. The results suggest that the vegetation density has no significant impact on performance. In contrast, increased rainfall leads to pronounced degradation due to rain-induced attenuation and scattering, and traffic congestion intensifies signal interference, further reducing performance. These findings provide an important foundation for ensuring the reliability of communication in the deployment of autonomous vehicles and intelligent transportation systems.
